Payment Processing

Our online store was built using OSCommerce, a free open sourse e-commerce and online store-management software program. When purchasing an item through our store, payment is made either by credit card (domestic United States only) or through PayPal (for international orders). For credit card payment authorization, we do not employ an e-commerce payment gateway such as Authorize.net which would process the payment online through its servers during the transaction.

Instead, all credit card payments are processed in the store via our own secure in-store point of sale system. Credit card numbers entered by customers during the secure sale process are encrypted before entering the store's database and passed from the database to the physical store via email notification. Payment is then processed in the store and all credit card information is purged from the database.

Vickers Western uses an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate as cryptographic protocal to provide security during the checkout process. All customer information provided in registrations and sales is kept private. For more, please read our Privacy Notice.
